About us

The Environmental Assessment Directorate is in charge of planning, leading, coordinating, agreeing and carrying out oversight and monitoring environmental quality enabling the identification of the quality status of the environment and natural resources, as well as of the environmental impacts and potential effects of projects, plans or programs.

What do we do

Environmental quality oversight and monitoring is performed to:

  • Provide information that shall frame the measures to enforce compliance with the National Environmental Policy and regulations objectives.
  • Support technically the environmental oversight and enforcement activities of OEFA.

Evaluation tasks include:

  • Air Quality Evaluation.
  • Water Quality Evaluation.
  • Soil Quality Evaluation.
  • Natural Resources Evaluation.
  • Identification of Environmental Liabilities in the Hydrocarbons subsector.

We evaluate the different factors that determine the quality of the environment with the Baseline and Contaminating Agents:

  • Discharges.
  • Emissions.
  • Solid Waste.
  • Chemical Substances.
  • Noise.
  • Vibrations.
  • Non ionizing radiation.
  • Landscape deterioration, others.
